Dr. Lize Jalbert is a registered Clinical and Counselling Psychologist. Her practice focuses on providing assessment and treatment of individuals facing a variety of issues such as anxiety, depression and low self-esteem. She has a special interest in trauma/PTSD, and specialized training in both Prolonged Exposure (PE) Therapy and Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT) for PTSD.
Dr. Jalbert obtained her Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from Lakehead University in 2004 and registered with the College of Psychologists in 2005. She worked for Health Sciences North (HSN) from 2001 to 2011 helping individuals with mental health concerns such as mood and anxiety disorders and eating disorders. From 2011-2013, she worked with medical patients at the HSN Bariatric Regional Assessment and Treatment Centre, the Diabetes Program and the Function and Pain Program, helping patients with weight-related mood issues, diabetes and persistent pain.
Both during her time at HSN and in private practice, Dr. Jalbert has provided supervision for both Master’s and Ph.D. students preparing for registration with the College of Psychologists as well as individuals seeking registration with the College of Psychotherapists.
Dr. Jalbert has been in private practice since 2013, and incorporated in 2020 as Jalbert Psychological and Counselling Services.

Samantha is in the process of completing post-Master's work experience under the supervision of Dr. Jalbert in preparation for registration with the College of Psychologists of Ontario as a Psychological Associate. Samantha obtained her Honour's Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Laurentian University in 2018 and has completed degree requirements in the Master of Arts in Applied Psychology program at Laurentian University.
Samantha has supervised experience in both assessment and treatment of individuals with varying mental health and related concerns, such as depression, anxiety, and trauma. She uses Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) techniques and Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT) skills in her work with clients, and has specialized training in both Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT) and Prolonged Exposure (PE) Therapy for PTSD. Samantha has a keen interest in helping clients adapt to life stressors, process difficult emotions, and foster improved balance and resilience.

Liza brings extensive experience as an administrative professional to Jalbert Psychological Services. Clients will be met by her friendly and professional manner whilst she assists them through the referral process, scheduling appointments and addressing any questions or concerns. Liza is from South Africa having moved to Canada two years ago and brings with her years of Administrative experience having worked in a variety of industries.
